Asher glanced away from the television and checked his watch. Collin was supposed to be there in about fifteen minutes. He felt bad for the kid, simply because he remembered what his first year at TISCH had been like. He'd moved all the way across country to go to film school and instead of being able to jump straight into film making, he had to take the required first year classes of lectures, theory and history. He'd hoped by picking a certain craft, he would have been able to avoid all the boring material that the rest of his peers had to be stuck with at their universities and while he didn't have to take generic courses like biology or a humanities credit, it hadn't exactly been what he had prepared for.

With free time on his hands now that he wasn't working in any Broadway productions, Asher had put up an offer on a bulletin board for NYU to tutor the undergrads for some spare cash. Though he hadn't taken any general education classes, Asher knew enough about writing, history, psychology and philosophy all courses he had taken at NYU just for the experience and credit later in his own degree.

He had three pupils currently. Andrea was an English major who needed help in her psychology course. He tolerated her, but he found the girl to be dense and trying to get through to her with the material was like pulling teeth. Anna, he had found out first session, had seen him in West Side Story and it seemed like the only reason that she had asked for help was to spend more time around a "celebrity". She wanted to talk and flirt more than she wanted to learn. It seemed like she already knew the material he had been trying to teach, but he stuck with her for the money. Collin was Asher's favorite. The boy was easy to get along with. He seemed smart and had potential to do pretty much anything he wanted to if he put his mind to it. He was becoming a bit biased about Collin, though he hadn't entirely figured out why. It was a strange chemistry and Asher found himself looking more forward to their sessions together as time passed.

With Collin set to arrive at any minute, Asher finally pulled himself off his couch and switched off the television. He wandered into the bathroom and absentmindedly checked his appearance, then went to the kitchen and pulled out two bottles of water. He heard a knock at the door, which sent his stomach into unexplained knots; but, he smiled as he opened it and stepped aside to let Collin in. "I'm starting to wonder why you even need my help. You know the material better than you think you do," Asher complimented as he handed the younger boy a bottle of water.
